Which settings can one use for fractals?

It´s one of the best indicators to interpret the price behavior.
And you do not need any more indicator, just a good money management.

I totally disagree with the trading strategy. The buy and sell fractals are backwards. Reverse the "buy" and "sell" fractal signals (upper fractals red and lower fractals green) and then trade (with your now reversed buy/sell signal) using the red line. make sure the red line is not flat 1st of all but when market is moving, if moving up, then enter trade with buy fractal (the fractal below price action). If you look at the section showing how to trade "Fractals trading: Bill Williams' Chaos Theory", you should be trading the opposite fractals that are shown. Otherwise you are always buying at the top and selling at the bottom of the "waves", pretty much having start with your trade losing before showing a profit causing you to have to set bigger stops. Why not keep those stops tight to limit losses. I also recommend using 5min,15min,1hr and even 4hr time frames to time your entry. I also use a 34ema (set at closing) on my charts to determine strength of trend. The only thing you have to watch for is at the 1hr and below time frames is the MA's being distorted by huge fast moves from reports.

I didn't read all the comments but what I've noticed is that when I see a Fractal "arrow" above or below the bar, the very next bar almost always trades in the opposite direction. Now I haven't watched any live action on it yet but from just looking at the chart examples it seems like a pretty good trigger to trade in the opposite direction of the arrow. How close the action is to an important MA,trend line or support/resistance would filter it as a go or no. Now IF these arrows appear above or below a bar after several more bars have run, THEN nevermind what I've seen on the example charts. It's a lagging indicator for what I just assumed and not useful for a trade trigger as it appears to be on the example charts.

thank you

Fractals often disappear. Capable of destroying good account.
