MACD
MACD is the simplest and very reliable indicator used by many Forex traders. MACD (Moving Average Convergence/Divergence) has in its base Moving Averages. It calculates and displays the difference between the two moving averages at any time. As the market moves, moving averages move with it, widening (diverging) when the market is trending and moving closer (converging) when the market is slowing down and possibility of a trend change arise. i have a 6 simple moving average applied to the close. Yet another 5 simple moving average with preivious indicators data attached to it. Please help me to find a macd program which includes the moving averages used. thanks in advance

Thats not a histogram , the histogram is the MACD line(9 period) , and the other is the trigger line.

Both MACD and ADX are useful and reliable, just depends where and how you use it, that's why I describe them on this site.

Hi FI, Here is a picture i have taken:
The top MAcD (1 lined MAcD) is the default indi that comes with MT4 & the bottom one is the one downloaded from u r post above. They are giving different results.
Is this possible to share a 1 line MAcD indi which shows 2 colors for histogram?

That's because the second one has default settings: 8, 17, 9. Change them to 12, 26, 9.
Help me how to plot MACD on 1hour, 15minute and 4hour chart, can i used 12,26,9 for both charts. Thanks.
The default MACD settings 12, 26, 9 are recommended for all time frames.
While with other indicators we used to change settings depending on a time frame, with MACD it's not the case. MACD defaults are being recognized as the best across all time frames, but if you feel you could experiment to get a better reading, don't hesitate to try it.
